Rabbi Keven FriedmanShalom and welcome.  My favorite Hebrew word is shalom, a word steeped with nuanced meaning.  Shalom is most commonly used to mean hello, goodbye and peace.  However, if we take a closer look at the three letter Hebrew root of shalom, ש-ל-ם, we see the deeper meaning of  “completeness” or “fullness,” associated with this root, and perhaps we experience the greatest gift of all, shalom, a feeling of peace and completeness when we connect with and help serve the other.

My name is Rabbi Keven Tzvi Friedman and I look forward to connecting with you soon, listening and helping to serve your life-cycle, learning, pastoral and/or ritual needs.   I have always enjoyed meeting and helping people as both an attorney and a local community rabbi.  I believe it is crucial to meet you where you are, be curious to listen to your stories, including celebrations and challenges, and energized to help you and your family navigate your unique Jewish journey.  I look forward to hopefully serving you, connecting you to our vast, beautiful tradition, taking the time to personalize your life cycle event, and helping to make Judaism more relevant in your everyday lives.

I have served Jews from across the denominational spectrum, including Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, Reconstructionist, Jewish Renewal, traditional, atheist, agnostic, affiliated and unaffiliated, as both a hospital chaplain and a local community rabbi.
